Resolution 15676CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 15676 AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2020-2.1 TRANSPORTATION PLANNING DIVISION FUND REVENUE AND, EXPENDITURES BUDGET BY $88,000 TO ACCEPT AND ALLOCATE.THE BAY AREA AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT DISTRICT'S. VEHICLE TRIP REDUCTION GRANT FOR ELECTRONIC BICYCLE LOCKERS, AND ALLOCATE $60,400 IN LOCAL MEASURE BIBB BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN FUNDS FOR THE REQUIRED MATCHING FUNDS MANDATED BY THE GRANT WHEREAS, the City of Alameda (City) has provided bicycle electronic lockers in key locations since 2009, and data shows that people regularly use them; and WHEREAS, electronic bicycle lockers provide greater theft-protection than bicycle racks, protect bicycle gear such as lights and helmets, and can hold scooters, making it easier for people to commute by bicycle or scooter, thus reducing greenhouse gas (G~G) emissions; and WHEREAS, providing sufficient electronic bicycle lockers at commuter hubs, like ferry terminals, enables people to use bicycles or scooters for the "last mile" of their commute by protecting their bicycles and scooters from theft ·throughout their workdays; and WHEREAS, on November 5, 2019, the City Council approved the submittal of an application to the Bay Area Air Quality Management District's Vehicle Trip Reduction Grant Program for the purchase and installation of 36 new electronic bicycle lockers ("elockers"); and WHEREAS, the City's grant application was successful and the City was awarded $88,000 in grant funds from the Bay Area Air Quality Management District; and WHEREAS, the grant requires a $60,400 match of grant funds, for which the City has sufficient unallocated Measures Band BB Bicycle and Pedestrian funding that can be used for the match; and WHEREAS, in order to accept and allocate these funds in the Fiscal Year 2020- 21 budget, Council action is required. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVEO by the Council of the City of Alameda that budget amendments to increase the Transportation Planning Division estimated revenue and expenditures appropriations by $88,000 in the Bay Area Air Quality Management District's Vehicle Trip Reduction Grant Program funds, and $60,400 in Measures B and BB Bicycle and Pedestrian Funds for Fiscal Year 2020-21 are approved. ****** I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting assembled on the 21st day of July 2020 by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, Knox White, Oddie, Vella and Mayor Ezzy Ashcraft -5.
