WHE � 5 W,REI�S under Chapter 1023, 1947 Statutes of California ( Sep e.10.1 - Political Code), the legislative body of any city or district may, by ordinance or resolution, provide that every Saturday is a holiday as respects the transaction of business in the public offices of such cities or districts except that provision shall be made for the continuance of essential public services such as police and fire protection; N 0 W PHEREYORE1 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that every Saturday shall be, and is hereby declared to be, a holiday, as respects the transaction of business in all public offices in the City Hall of the City of N�Nmm=m RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the provisions of this resolution shall not apply to the police Department, Fire Department, or any workshop, or any branch. of any department of government of the City of Alameda where continuous operation is necessary.
