RESOLUTION 02 AWARD NO. 39, NZU SERIVS, FOR THE LAY IYG aF
A SEWER IN BLY STREET AND CONNECTING WITH THE SOUTHSIDE
INTERCEPT ING SEWER.
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda did, in open session, on the
19th day of June, 1917, publicly open, examine.and declare all sealed proposals
ill"
or bids for doing the following work in said city, to wit:
That a salt -glazed, vitrified, iron -stone sewer, six (6) inches in in-
side diameter, with four -inch "Y" branches and without house connections, be
constructed in Bay Street, from the existing manhole in the center line of
Bay Street (said manhole being distant 958 feet southerly from the manhole
in the crossing of Bay Street and San Antonio Avenue) thence descend0:19
uniformly in a right line to the existing manhole in the south side inter-
cepting sewer at the southerly end of Bay Street.
That said manhole in the center line of Bay Street distant 958 feet
soathorly from themanholein the crossing of Bay Street and San Ahtonio
avenne shall be reconstructed, and shall be of brick masonry with cast
iron top and covor and eight inch wall and bottom in accordance with "Plan
for Brick Eanhhe", adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of Alameda,
January 11th, 1897, and on file in the oftice of the City Clerk of said
city, which plan is hereby referred to and made a part hereof.
All of said work to be done according to the specifications posted anal
on file and heretofore adopted for doing said work,
RESOLVED, that the said Connell hereby rejects all of said proposals
or bids except that next herein mentioned, and hereby awards the contract
for doing said work and improvement to the lowest responsible bidder, to wit:
M. P. Cambear at the prices named in his bid. The City Clerk is hereby
directed to post notice of this award conspicuously for five days, on or
near the chamoer door of the said Council and also publish said notice by
two insertions in the Evening Times Mar and Alameda Daily Argus, a daily
newspaper published and circulated in said city, and hereby designated for
that purpose by said Council.
