the Council of the City of Alameda did, on the 15th day of
June, 1948, pass it'
s Resolution of Intention No. 3738, declaring its intention
to order the vacation, closing and abandonment of that certain portion of the
following named street, in the City of Alameda, County of Alameda, State of
California, more particularly described in said Resolution of Intention as
follows .
A31 that portion of Broadway from the north line of 31anding
"venue to the center line of Harrison Avenue, abandoned, particularly
described as follows, to -wit:
DEG,I1,rND,'G at the northeast corner of the intersection of Blanding
!venue with Broadway as shown on 43p of Blocks A, B, C, D, E and F
of the Hays and Capterton Tract, Alameda", surveyed in 1865
by W. F. Boardman and filed November 6, 1885 and of record in Yap Book
4, Page 26, in the office of the County Recorder of Alameda County;
thence running northeasterly aloin g the easterly line of Broadway 294.53
feet; thence continuing along the said line produced northeasterly 30.1
feet to the center line of Harrison Avenue abandoned;*thence southwesterly
along the west line of 3roadway produced as above 30.1 feet to the south-
west corner of Broadway and Harrison Avenue abandoned; thence continuing
southwesterly 288.23 feet along the westerly line of Broadway to the
northwest corner of the intersection of Broadway and Blanding Avenue;
thence southeasterly along the northerly line of Blanding Avenue 80 feet
to the northeast corner of the intersection of Broadway and Blanding
Avenue, the point of beginning;

iFIEEZEAS, the portion of said street to be vacated and abandoned and the
details of said vacation are more particularly shown upon a map bearin; the legend:
"Proposed closing of Portion of Broadway", which map was by said Resolution of
Intention approved for tue purpose of this proceeding and was ordered filed in the
office of the City Clerk of the City of Alameda and marked "Filed June 15, 1948",
and which r,,,iap was in said resolution referred to for further particulars as to
the ?roposed vacation; and
OHEREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Alameda caused said Resolution
of Intention to be published, in the manner prescribed by law for the publishing
of ordinances of the City of Alameda, in the Alameda Times -Star, a daily newspaper
of general circulation published and circulated in said city and the official
newspaper thereof; and
oFE-LiRLAS, the City Clerk of the City of Alameda caused to be posted
conspicuously along the line of the street and part thereof proposed to be
vacated, notices of such vacation, in the form and manner required by the Street
Vacation Act of 1941 of the State of California (Chapter 250, Statutes of 1941);

WLEH]i�E'As, proof of said publication is evidbnced'by an affidavit of publi-
cation now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said city; and
proof of said posting of such notices is evidenced by the affi-
davit of the person posting said notices, which affidavit sets forth the fact
regarding such posting and is now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said
City; and
in and by said Resolution of Intention the Council of the Ginty
of Alameda fixed the gats day of July, 1948, at 8 o'clock P. E. of said day, in
the Council Chambers in the City Hall, at the northwest corner of Santa Clara
Avenue and Oak Street, Alameda, California, as the time and place for hearing by
tne jouncil of said My of all persons interested in or objecting to the pro-
posed vacation; and
�EEAEKS, the matter of said proposed vacation came on regularly for
hearing before the Council of the Gity of Alameda, at this, its regular meeting,
on the 6th day of July, 1948, and at the time and place fixed in said Resolution
of Intention, and at such hearing the said Council heard the evidence offered by
all persons interested in said street vacation, and a full hearinS thereon haviq-�,

said Council hereby finds and determines, from all the evidence submitted, that,
the street and part tiereof, in said Resolution of Intention and hareinbefure more
*thence southwesterly along the center line of the above mentioned Harrison Avenue 80.24 feet to a
point in the westerly line of Broadway produced northeasterly;
particularly described is unnecessary for present and prospective public street
purposes and that public interest requires the vacation of said portion of said
street.

before more particularly described, b, and the same is hereby, vacated and

A the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
duly and reSularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in regular mectinS assembled on the 6th day of July, 1948, by the following vote,
to wit:
