AUTHORIZINIG CITY TO ILIAKE APPLICATION TO
STATE DIRECTOR OF FII-i'ANCE ON, BE' LF OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA FOR STATE ASSISTANCE IN DEFRAYING COST
OF PLANS FOR INSTALLATION O F A LATERAL STREET
SEWER SYSTE1.1 C."T BAY FAR11vi ISLAND. (PROJECT NO. 47-21)
'WhEREAS, the State of California, under Chapter 47Statutes of 1944,
(4th Extra Session) has appropriated funds for allotment by the Director of
Finance to provide financial assistance to Local -Agencies defined therein as
counties, cities or cities and counties for the purpose of defraying not to ey'
ceed one-half the cost of preparing engineering field surveys, engineering or
architectural designs, and working and detailed drawings and specifications
(hereinafter called "Plans") required for post-war public works projects de-
scribed as "specific projects" in said Act; and

WHEREAS, the City of Alameda desires to apply to the Director of
Finance and or the Post War Public Works Review Board, as the case may be, for
an allotment of the State's share of the estimated cost of preparing the com-
pleted plans hereinafter mentioned, and there has been prepared and presented
to this Legislative Body for consideration an application for such purpose; and
WHEREAS, said City has provided, or will make available upon approval
of the aforementioned application, sufficient funds to prepare the completed plans
herein mentioned;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that said City submit the aforesaid
application to the Director of Finance and/or the Post War Public Works Review
Board, as the case may be, requesting allotment of One Thousand ($1.1000.00)
Dollars, being not more than one-half the cost of preparing said completed plans,
or for such amount as may be approved by the Director of Finance and/or the Post
War Public Works Review Board, (said allotment to be used for the purpose of de-
fraying the cost of preparing said completed plans required) for a specific project
to be undertaken by said City and described as Project No. 47 -21 --Installation of
a Lateral Street Sewer System on Bay Farm Island.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the estimated cost of preparing such plans
is Two Thousand ($2,000.00) Dollars, and that said City has made provision for
paying one-half or more of the cost of preparing such plans.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that for the purposes of this application,
Carl Froerer, City D41anager of the City of Alameda, be, and he hereby is, designated
as the authorized agent of said City and is hereby authorized and directed to sign
the above mentioned application on behalf of said City and submit the same to the
Director of FInance and/or the Post War Public Works Review Board together with a
certified statement of the estimated cost of preparing such plans and such other
information as may be required; and said authorized agent is further authorized
and directed, as the representative of said City, to conduct all negotiations and
conclude all arrangements, including submission to the Director of Finance of
applications for reimbursement, which may be necessary to secure reimbursement
for the State's share of the expenditure made in preparing said completed plans.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled on the 19th day of October,, 1948, by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Anderson, Jones, Osborn, Sweeney and President
Branscheid, (5) -
