RESOLUTION NO. 4630
PROVIDING FOR TEE AMOT. NT PER DIEM FOR OFFICERS AND
EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF ALANEDA FOR TRAVELI!qG EXPENSES
WHEREAS, Section 22-7 of the Charter of the City of Alameda requires
that the Council annually fix the per them allowance for traveling expenses of
officers and employees of the City;
NOk''I TTEREFORE, BE TT RESOLMED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CTTY OP AIANEDA
as follows:
(1) Any officer or employee of the City who shall, under the authority
of law and, except for routine duties, on authorization of the Council, leave the
City for the purpose of performing any official duty or rendering any service for
or on behalf of the City, or for the purpose of officially representing said City
or any board, cornission or department thereof, shall be allowed the traveling
expenses incident to said service, which traveling expenses shall include the
actual cost of transportation, including Pulinan charges, plus a per diem allow-
anne in an amount not to exceed Q22.50 per day for each and every day while said
officer or employee is absent on said official business;
Q& Derwands for payment of traveling expenses for which prior authori-
zation of the Council is required shall not exceed the amount appropriated or
authorized by the Council;
(3) Performance of duties or services for or on behalf of the City,
to be performed outside of the City in connection with routine duties, need not
have been previously authorized by the Council; however, traveling expenses
Incurred in connection with thew perfornance of such routine duties or services
shall be allowed only when such peTformance was authorized or approved by the
head of the department or office ir which the offIcer or employee naking damand
therefor is employed. The to "routine duties", as used herein, shall be deemed
to include performance of duties or services connected with city business, the
necessity for the performance of which arises from t1me to time, although the sane
may not be of a periodically or regularly recurrent nnure, and shall include
attendance at classes for the purpose of instruction or tra-Ining in city work,
or attendance at occasional meetings of other city officials or employees or
public administration officers held for the purpose of discussion and solving
problems of public administration with which the City is concerned;
(4) Demands for traveling expenses shall be for expenditures actually
incurred, and shall be supported by a statement of the officer or employee
presenting same showing the nature and amount of the items of expenditure forminp
the basis thereof, and such vouchers or proof of expenditures as shall be required
by the Council of the Auditor.
RESOLVED, YURTEER, that this resolution shall be in effect for a period
of one year from the date of its adoption.

duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in regular necting assembled on the 1st day of July, 1952, by the following vote,
to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Anderson, Branscheld, Sweeney and President Csborn,

NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilman Jones, (1).
