SUBYITTING TO THE VOTERS OF THE CITY 01.711 ALAIMEDA AN

REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 276 NEW SERIES AS AYENDIAD"; AND
CALLING A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID
CITY ON TUEESDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 1952, FOR THE PURPOSE OF
S UBMITTING THE AFORESAID ORDINANCE TO THE VOTERS OF SAID
CITY; AND CCNSOLIDATING SAID ELECTION WITH THE STATE
BIENNIAL ELECTION TO BE NEED NOVEMBER 4# 1952
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that a special
municipal election be, and same is hereby called and ordered to be held in said
City of Alameda, State of California, on Tuesday, November 4. 1952, for the pur-
pose of submitting to the voters of said City an ordinance which shall be in the
words and figures hereinafter set forth.
BE IT FURTI-TER RESOLVED that the Council of said City of Alameda, on its
own motion and without a petition therefor, submit, and there is hereby submitted
to the voters of said City, at said special municipal election, an ordinance which
shall be in the words and figures set forth in the attached copy of the proposed
ordinance, which attached copy is marked Exhibit ''A'', and by reference made a
part of this resolution.
BE IT FURTIEER RESOLVED that the title and statement of the proposition
for the adoption of the aforesaid ordinance, as the same shall appear on the
ballot to be used at said special municipal election, be, and the same is hereby,
prescribed to read substantially as follows:

tions to the City of Alameda Police and Fire

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of said City is hereby
authorized and directed to cause said proposed ordinance to be printed and a copy
thereof mailed, enclosed in an envelope with the sample ballot, to each voter at
least ten (10) days prior to said election.
BE IT FURTHER RESOIAED that said special municipal election herein called
be, and the same is hereby, consolidated with the biennial State election to be
held on Tuesday, November 4. 1952, in the County of Alameda; that the election
precincts, polling places, voting booths, and election officers who shall conduct
said special municipal election are hereby designated to be the same as the elec-
tion precincts, polling places, voting booths, and election officers as shall be
designated, established and appointed by resolution or ordinance of the Board of
Supervisors of the County of Alameda for the purpose of holding and conducting,
said biennial State election within the territory affected by this order of con-
solidation, and that said election shall be held in all respects as if there were
only one election, and only one form of ballot shall be used thereat.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLS AD that the Board of Supervisors of said County of
Alameda is hereby authorized and empowered to canvass the returns of said special
municipal election and certify the results thereof.
BE IT FURTHER RKSOTTED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Alameda be, and it is hereby, requested to make its order and to take such other
and further proceedings as may be necessary to effect the consolidation of said
special municipal election with said general State election, in accordance with
the laws of the State of California regulating and providing for the consolida-
tion of elections.
BE IT FURTIFFR RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Alameda
be, and he is hereby, authorized and requested to mail to each of the qualified
and registered electors of the City of Alameda a copy of the proposed ordinance.
BE !T FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this resolution be
forthwith delivered to the Coanty Clerk of theConnt4 of Alameda.
