WITH DEEP SORROW, the Council of the City of Alameda records the death
of one of its former Police Officers, BERT CONANT, who joined the Police
Department on September 272 1915, and who was retired on a disability pension
on August 1, 1938®
10=PLEEAS, Officer Conant had performed his duties most efficiently and
had served temporarily as Captain and also Chief of Police;
YOW) TERREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that, in recognition of his loyal
service to the community as a member of the Police Department, the Council of
the City of Alameda hereby expresses its sense of personal loss and its sincere
gratitude for the privilege of having had such a faithful and diligent employee.
RE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread in full upon
the minutes of this meeting, and that a copy thereof be transmitted to the
family of Officer Conant, that it may extend to its members a sincere expression
of sympathy and condolence; and
BE IT !U! --,I RESOLVED that when this meeting of the Council of the
City of Alameda adjourns, it shall do so in respect to the memory of BERT CONANT.
1, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled on the 7th day of October, 1952, by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Anderson, Branscheid, Tones, Sweeney and President
Osborn, (5).
