AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO MAKE APPLICATION TO STATE
DIRECTOR OF FINANCE ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
FOR STATE ASSISTANCE IN DEFRAYING COST OF PLANS FOR
THE RECONSTRUCTION OF SAN ANTONIO AVENUE FROY MORTON
STREET TO NINTH STREET (PROJECT NO. 47-0)
WHEREAS, the State of California, under Chapter 47, Statutes of 1944,
(4th Extra Session) has appropriated funds for allotment by the Director of Finance
to provide financial assistance to Local Agencies defined therein as counties, cities
or cities and counties for the -purpose of defraying not to exceed one-half the cost
of preparing engineering field surveys, engineering or architectural designs, and
working and detailed drawings and specifications (hereinafter called "Plans") re-
quired for post-war public works 'projects described as "specific projects" in said
Acto0 and
WHEREAS,the City of Alameda desires to apply to the Director of Finance
and/or the State Allocation Board, as the case may be, for an allotment of the State's
share of the estimated cost of preparing the completed plans hereinafter mentioned,
and there has been prepared and presented to this Legislative Body for consideration
an application for such purpose; and
WHEREAS, said City has provided, or will make available upon approval of
the aforementioned application, sufficient funds to prepare the completed plans
herein mentioned,
NOW THEREFORE, BE 7 T RESOLVED BY TfiE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that
said City submit the aforesaid application to the Director of Finance and/or the
State Allocation Board., as the case may be, requesting allotment of $625.00, being
not more than one-half the cost of preparing said completed plans,, or for such amount
as may be approved by the Director of Finance and/or the State Allocation Board,
(said allotment to be used for the purpose of defraying the cost of preparing said
completed plans required) for a specific project to be undertaken by said City and
described as Project No. 47 -40 --RECONSTRUCTION OF SAN ANTONIO AVENUE FROM MORTON
STREET TO NINTH STREET.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the estimated cost of preparing such plans is
'1,250.00, and that said City has made provision for paying one-half or more of the
cost of preparing such plans.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that for the purposes of this application, the
City Manager of the City of Alameda be, and, he is hereby, designated as the authorized
agent of said City and is hereby authorized and directed to sign the above mentioned
arplication on behalf of said City and submit the same to the Director of Finance
and/or the State Allocation Board, together with a. certified statement of the esti-
mated cost of preparing such plans and such other information as may be required -
and said authorized agent is further authorized and directed as the representative
of said City to conduct all negotiations and conclude all arrangements, including
submission to the Director of Finance of applications for reimbursement for the
State's share of the expenditure made in preparing said completed plans.

meeting assembled on the 16th day of December, 1952, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Anderson, Branscheid, Jones, Sweeney and President
Osborn, (5).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
