Resolution 04755W RESOLUTION NO. 4755 DEFINING THE PURPOSE AND INTENT OF THE CITYIS REQUEST FOR TRANSFER TO IT OF THE TEMPORARY WAR HOUSING PROJECTS IN THE CITY OF ALAMEDA I ------- ---------- -- WHEREAS, the CityCouncil of the City of Alameda has filed an application requesting transfer to the City of Alameda of the temporary, war housing projects in the City of Alameda, California, pursuant to Title VI of the Lanham Act; and WHEREAS, said application states that the City intends to continue th-le, operation of the projects for housing purposes; NOW, THEREFORR, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Coancil of the City of Alameda that its purpose in requesting transfer to the City of Alameda of the temporary war housing projects is to better assure a continuance of operation and maintenance of the projects for housing purposes; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that it is now the desire and intent of the City of Alameda tQ continue the operation and maintenanve of the projects for housing purposes so long as there is a need therefor; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLYED, that in filling vacancies, it will give preference to military personnel and such persons engaged in national defense or mobilization activities as the Secretary of Defense or his designee may prescribe. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the nth day of April, 1953, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Anderson, Branscheid, Jones, Sweeney and President Osborn, (5).
