AMENDING RESOLUTION XO. 4706 BY AMENUING PARAGRAPH 2
OF SECTION 3 THRhEOF, RELATING TO HOLIDAY PAY FOR
POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTHENTS
WHEREAS, it is nrovided by Ordinance No. 1035 Now Series, as amended by
Ordinances No. 1060 and No. New Series, that all officials and regular enployees,
excepting all employees of the Police and Fire Departments other than the Chiefs of
said Depaptments and clerks, stenographers and other civilinns employed thernin,
shall be entitled to aq extra day's vacation in the event that a Voliday other than
Saturday, Sunday or Fasten Sunday shall ocpur within their vacation period; and
WHEREASI K the opinion of this Council said employees of the Police and
Fire Departments are entitled to be compensated for the loss of such portions of
their vacation period as may be occasioned by the occurrence therein of any of the
holidays listed in paragraph 2 of Section 3 of Resolution No. 4786;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY 91-1Hl-TtCOU1,1GIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that

to read as follows:
2. Holiday LIZ Qr�olice a d Fire Departments. All employees of
the Polico and Fire - Dnpartmle-TTS-, exceptOT-T77-PolBanc, Chief, Fire
Chief, clerks,stenographers, or other civilian employees, shall be
paid additional comDensation for holidays at the straight time daily
rate of one -thirtieth (1/30) of their r7ular monthly salaries.
This provision applies to the following holidays:
New Year's Day Admission Day
Lincoints Birthday Columbus Day
Washing�onfs Birthday Armistice Day
Menorial Day Thanksgiving Da7
independence Day Christmas Dwy.
Labor Day
In the event any of the aforementioned holidays shall fall within the
vacation period of said employees, the Department head shall determine
whether the employees affected shall be paid additional compensation
for such holiday or holidays, at the rate in this pair agreph nrovided,

such holiday or holidays.
