AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2022-23 GENERAL FUND FIRE
DEPARTMENT OPERATING BUDGET TO INCREASE
EXPENDITURES IN THE AMOUNT OF $156,335
WHEREAS, on June 15, 2021, the City Council adopted a budget representing the
financial plan for conducting the affairs of the City of Alameda for the Fiscal Year (FY)
beginning July 1, 2021 and ending June 30, 2023; and
WHEREAS, Fire Station 3 and Emergency Operations Center Public Art Project
was approved in August 2016 and not completed due to funding; and
WHEREAS, staff is proposing to carryforward $156,335 in Fire Department budget
savings from the end of FY 2021-22 to the Fire Department Budget in FY 2022-23 for the
Fire Station 3 and Emergency Operations Center Public Art Project (10032200-82000);
and
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the report and recommendations of
the City Manager on the budget amendments and has determined that the budget
amendments are both fair and appropriate; and
WHEREAS, this budget ensures that the City of Alameda has exercised prudent
judgment in its fiduciary responsibility as guardian of the public tax dollars.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that
the budget amendments to the City's Fire Department Fiscal Year 2022-23 Budget in the
General Fund is approved, by increasing expenditure appropriations by $156,335.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and
regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting
assembled on the 20th day of September 2022 by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, Herrera Spencer, Knox White,
Vella and Mayor Ezzy Ashcraft — 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
