AMENDING THE SALARY SCHEDULE, ADDING THE
CLASSIFICATION OF INDEPENDENT POLICE AUDITOR,
APPROVING WORKFORCE CHANGES IN THE CITY ATTORNEY'S
OFFICE TO ADD ONE NEW POSITION AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY
ATTORNEY TO FILL THE NEW POSITION.
WHEREAS, in order to implement City Council direction on November 1, 2022 to
establish a civilian police oversight program, through an Independent Police Auditor
reporting to the City Attorney, staff recommends the creation of such a position; and
WHEREAS, staff has conducted a survey of similar job functions throughout
California and now recommend the creation of the position as follows.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that
the salary schedule amendment and workforce changes as outlined below are so
modified, resulting in an overall increase of one full time permanent positions to the City's
total position allocation.

The City Attorney is hereby authorized to the filled the position through an employment
agreement.
