Resolution 16112 CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 16112 AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, TO EXECUTE A GRANT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION, DIVISION OF BOATING AND WATERWAYS, AND THE CITY OF ALAMEDA BY AND THROUGH THE ALAMEDA POLICE DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, the City of Alameda by and through the Police Department has been awarded a Surrendered and Abandoned Vessel Exchange (SAVE) grant allocation from the State of California, Department of Parks and Recreation, Division of Boating and Waterways in the sum of $200,000 for the purpose of abating derelict or abandoned recreational vessels from the marinas and waterways within its jurisdiction; and WHEREAS, in order to accept the SAVE grant allocation, the City Council must authorize the City Manager or designee to enter into an agreement with the Division of Boating and Waterways; and WHEREAS, a SAVE' grant agreement has been prepared by the Division of Boating and Waterways which requires the signature of the City representative and a resolution by the City Council authorizing the signature. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Alameda that the City Manager, or designee, Police Chief Nishant Joshi, is authorized to negotiate and execute the SAVE grant agreement between the City of Alameda by and through the Alameda Police Department and State of California, Department of Parks and Recreation, Division of Waterways. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting assembled on the 7th day of November 2023, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, Herrera Spencer, Jensen, Vella and Mayor Ezzy Ashcraft— 5.
