Resolution 16047 CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 16047 AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2022-23 FIRE GRANTS FUND REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES BUDGET BY $80,000, TO ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE THE CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES 2022 HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT WHEREAS, on June 21, 2022, the City Council approved a Budget representing the financial plan for conducting the affairs of the City of Alameda for the Fiscal Year beginning July 1, 2022 and ending June 30, 2023; and WHEREAS, the Fire Department applied and was awarded an Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) 2022 Homeland Security Grant; and WHEREAS, the purpose of the grant is to build capabilities to protect against, prevent, respond to, and recover from terrorist acts and other types of emergencies or disasters; and WHEREAS, the grant will provide the Fire Department's Dive Team with a Surface Supplied Air System; and WHEREAS, staff is proposing that the Fire Grant Fund revenues and appropriations be increased by $80,000 each; and WHEREAS, the Council has considered the report and recommendations of the City Manager on the budget amendments and has determined that the budget amendments are both fair and appropriate; and WHEREAS, this budget ensures that the City of Alameda has exercised prudent judgment in its fiduciary responsibility as guardian of the public tax dollars. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that budget amendments to increase revenue and expenditure appropriations for the Fire Grants funds by$80,000, for Fiscal Year 2022-23 are approved. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting assembled on the 16th day of May 2023, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, Herrera Spencer, Jensen, Vella and Mayor Ezzy Ashcroft — 5.
