Resolution 16365 CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 16365
ADOPTING AND RATIFYING REVISED SALARY SCHEDULES FOR
CITY COUNCIL APPOINTED POSITIONS OF CITY MANAGER AND
CITY ATTORNEY TO ENSURE COMPLIANCE WITH CALPERS
REQUIREMENTS
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda ("City") contracts with the California Public
Employees' Retirement System ("CaIPERS") to provide retirement benefits to eligible
employees; and
WHEREAS, CaIPERS provides pensions to eligible employees pursuant to the
Public Employees' Retirement Law, Government Code section 20000 et seq. ("PERL")
and the Public Employees' Pension Reform Act ("PEPRA"); and
WHEREAS, compensation used in pension calculations under the PERL must
meet specific requirements in Title 2 California Code of Regulations sections 570.5 and
571.1(4); and
WHEREAS, Council adoption of salary schedules for Council appointees City
Manager and City Attorney are necessary to comply with the PERL; and
WHEREAS, Council adopted initial salary schedules for Council appointees on
December 2, 2025; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to revise the initial salary schedules for Council
appointees adopted on December 2, 2025 for the purpose of clarification and alignment
with past practice; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda has fully examined said proposed
salary schedules, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit 1 and on file in the Office
of the City Clerk, and thereby finds and determines adoption of said documents to be in
the best interest of the City; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda has considered the financial impact
of the proposed salary schedules on various City funds and found that there will be no
financial impact.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda
hereby approves and adopts the Council Appointees Salary Schedules 2022-2025
(attached hereto as Exhibit A); and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the provisions of this Resolution shall
supersede any other resolutions in conflict herewith.
