TUESDAY - - NOVEMBER 19, 2002 - - 6:25 P.M.
Acting Mayor DeWitt convened the Special Meeting at 6:25 p.m.
Roll Call - Present: Councilmembers Daysog, Johnson, Kerr and
Acting Mayor DeWitt - 4.
Absent: None.
The Special Meeting was adjourned to Closed Session to consider:
(02 -519) Conference with Legal Counsel - Anticipated Litigation;
Initiation of litigation pursuant to subdivision (c) of Section
54956.9; Number of potential cases: One.
(02 -520) Conference with Labor Negotiator; Agency negotiators:
Human Resources Director and City's Negotiator, Craig Jory;
Employee organizations: Alameda Management and Confidential
Employees Association (MCEA), Executive Managers, City Clerk, City
Attorney and City Manager.
(02 -521) Public Employee Performance Evaluation; Title: City
Manager and City Attorney. Not heard.
Following the Closed Session, the Special Meeting was reconvened
and Acting Mayor DeWitt announced that regarding Conference with
Legal Counsel, the Council authorized initiation of litigation per
Measure D, subject to certification of the [November 5, 2002]
election; and regarding Conference with Labor Negotiator, Council
gave instructions to labor negotiators.
Adjournment
There being no further business, Acting Mayor DeWitt adjourned the
Special Meeting at 7:35 p.m.
