Re: Benefits for Elected Officials
Background
In January 1, 1985, the City Council approved a
resolution approving health insurance, life insurance, and
retirement benefits for the Mayor and the City Council.
Discussion
It has been determined that the Council is eligible td-
enroll in the Dental insurance plan. The other two elected
officials, the City Treasurer and the City Auditor are also
eligible to enroll in the City dental, health, and life insurance
plans and in the City retirement plan.
Budget Consideration
These costs will be budgeted in the appropriate
departmental budgets for 1990 -91 and can be absorbed for the
remainder of this fiscal year. If all officials availed themselves
of the dental benefit, the annual cost would be $4,002.
Recommendation
By adoption, Council can provide this coverage for all
elected officials.
