What is CDBG?
Federal funds provided through the
Department of Housing and Urban
Development
HUD determines grant amount on basis of:
- poverty
- population growth /lag
- age of housing in the community
CDBG Purpose
To develop viable urban communities
through provision of:
- decent housing
- a suitable living environment
- economic opportunity
Primarily for low- and moderate- income
persons
Five -Year Consolidated Plan
Priority Needs 2005 — 2010
Jurisdictions are required to identify Housing and
Community Development priorities.
Priority needs identified in 2005 and affirmed in 2006
