2005-03-01 5-C Submittal05,
Geer Mayor end City Councilmembere,
I was perplexed to see on the Council agenda the establishment
of a Task Force to propose strategies to prevent Future mass
evictions.
My memory may be Failing, but I do not remember a vote of
Council. For a Task Force.
When monies hard and times are tough, why consider forming a
Task Force which requiree City staffing and a City Councilmember's
time for a non -- issue? There ere no other landlords in Alameda with
massive amounts of units. Where do you discriminate and drew a line
40, S0, or 60 unite that will not draw a Legal challenge?
goes the City still pay Sentinel, from C.0•B.0. funds to act
as an advocate for tenants ?
I wish to voice my opposition to the formation of a Task Force
and a waste of tax payer dollars.
Sincerely,
Diane Co1er -0ark
