AMENDING SUBSECTIONS 13 7 2.1 (ADOPTION
OF CALIFORNIA BUILDING CODE) AND 13 -2.4
(copy. OF. CALIFORNIA BUILDING CODE WITH
PLANNING .AND BUILDING DEPARTMENT) TO
INCORPORATE THE ADOPTION OF THE. 2008
EDITION OF THE CALIFORNIA GREEN BUILDING
STANDARDS CODE
BE IT ORDAINED by the city council. of.the city of Alameda that:
Section 1. subsection 13 -2.1 of the Alameda Municipal code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
13 -2.1 (a) Adoption of California Building Code...
Except as hereinafter provided, the California Building Code, 2007
Edition, published by the California Building Standards Commission, including
Appendix Chapter I (Pation Covers) and C is adopted by
reference and made a part hereof as if fully set forth herein at length and shall
be known as the Alameda Building Code.
13 -2.1 (b) Adoption of the California Green. Building Stan .dards code.
The California Green Building Standards Code, 2008 Edition,
published by the. California Building Standards Commission is ado ted b

reference and made.a part hereof .as if fully set forth. herein at length, and shall
be known as the Alameda Green Building .code.
Section 2. Subsection 13 -2.4 of the Alameda Municipal
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
13 -2.4 (a) Copy of California Building Code with Planning and Building
Department.
A copy of the California Building Code, 2007: Edition, has been
deposited in the Office of the Building Official of the City and shall be
maintained by the Building Official for use. and examination by the public.
13 -2.4 (b) Copy of :California Green Building Standards :Code with Planning
and Building Department.
A copy of the California Green Building Standards Code, 2008
Edition, has been deposited in the Office, of the Building Official of the City and
shall be maintained for use and examination by the public.

Section 3 . if any section, subsection, sentence s clause or
phrase of this ordinance is, for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional, . nal, such
decision shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of the renlainin
g portions

of this ordinance. The city council of the City of Alameda herb declares es that it
would have passed this ordinance, and each section, subsection sentence,
clause or phrase hereof, irrespective of the fact that an or or more sec t i
y ons,
subsections, sentences, clauses or phrases be declared unconstitutional.
Section 4. All former ordinances or parts thereof conflicting or
inconsistent with the provisions of this ordinance hereby adopted, to .the extent
of such conflict only, are hereby repealed.
Section 5. The City clerk of the city of Alameda is hereby
directed to cause this ordinance to be
published in the official Newspaper of the
City of Alameda
Section 6. This ordinance and the rules, regulation . s
provisions; requirements, orders and matters established and adopted hereby p
shall take effect and be in full force and effect 30 days after the date of its fi nal
passage and adoption.
