Mayor Johnson convened the meeting at 7:15 p.m.
ROLL CALL - Present: Councilmembers deHaan, Gilmore, Matarrese, Tam
and Mayor Johnson — 5.
Absent: None.
Resolution Acknowledging Service
(10 -601) Resolution No. 14534, "Commending Beverly J. Johnson for Eight Years of
Service to the City of Alameda as Mayor." Adopted.
Councilmember Gilmore moved adoption of the resolution.
Councilmember Matarrese seconded the motion, which carried by unanimous voice
vote — 5.
Vice Mayor deHaan read the resolution and presented a plaque to Mayor Johnson.
(10 -602) Resolution No. 14535, "Commending Frank Matarrese for Eight Years of
Service to the City of Alameda as CounciImember." Adopted.
Councilmember Gilmore moved adoption of the resolution.
Councilmember Tam seconded the motion, which carried by unanimous voice vote — 5.
Mayor Johnson read the resolution and presented a plaque to Councilmember
Matarrese.
State Assembly Member Sandre Swanson, Alameda County Supervisor Alice Lai Bitker
and the Deputy City Manager — Administrative Services, on behalf of Congressman
Pete Stark, made presentations to Mayor Johnson and Councilmember Matarrese.
Farewell Comments
(10 -603) Councilmember Matarrese thanked his family and supporters, the appointed
officials
Mayor Johnson thanked her family and the community, discussed the progress made by
the Council and handing the leadership of the City to Alameda.
Robb Ratto, Park Street Business Association, presented a plaque to Councilmember

Councilmember Gilmore, Vice Mayor deHaan, Councilmember Tam and Mayor
Johnson made comments thanking Councilmember Matarrese for his service.
Mayor Johnson called a recess at 7:51 p.m. and the meeting was reconvened at 8:16
p.m.
REORGANIZATION OF COUNCIL
Installation
(10 -604) The Honorable Judge Yolanda Northridge administered Oaths of Office to
Mayor Gilmore and Councilmembers Bonta, Tam and Johnson.

Absent: None.
Consideration of Appointment of Vice Mayor
(10 -605) Councilmember Johnson moved approval of appointing Rob Bonta Vice
Mayor.
Councilmember deHaan seconded the motion, which carried by unanimous voice vote —
5.
Comments by New Council
(10 -606) Councilmembers Bonta, Tam, Johnson and Mayor Gilmore each made
comments and thanked their supporters.
