NEW SERIES
AMENDING SECTIONS 17 -111 AND -
17 -411 AND REPEALING SEC-
TIONS 17 -112, 17 -113 AND 17 -114
OF THE ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL
CHIDE.
BE IT ORDAINED 13Y THE
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF A.LA-
MEDA as follows:
Section 1. Section 17 -111 of the
Alameda Municipal Code is hereby
amended to read as follows:
§17 -111. For the purpose of this
title the definitions of words and
phrascs contained in the Vehicle
Code of the State of California are
hereby adopted. Whenever such
% vords or phrases, or the words or
phrases defined in the succeeding
sections of this Article, occur in this
title they shall have the meaning
ascribed to them in such definitions,
unless it clearly appear from the con -
text that a different meaning is in-
tended.
Sgection 2. Sections 17 -112, 17 -113
and 17 -114 of the Alameda Municipal
Code are hereby repealed.
Section 3. Section 17 -411 of the
Alameda Municipal Code is hereby
amended to read as follows:
§17 -411. CHARACTER OF SIGNS
--DUTY OF CHIEF OF POLICE. All
signs, signals, guide posts, markers,
curb marking, semaphores or other
traffic control signalling devices for
the regulation and control of traffic
on public streets and highways
within the City, and required to be
erected and maintained by or pur-
suant to the Vehicle Code of the
State of California or any ordinance
or resolution of the ,City, shall con-
form in all particulars, with the re-
quirements of such Vehicle Code
when applicable, Otherwise with the
requireirnents of 'such ordinance or
resolution, and, unless otherwise
specifically provided, shall be erected
and maintained, or caused to be
erected and maintained, by the
Chief of Police.
