Ordinance 0927ORDINANCE NO. 927 New Series AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUB- SECTION (1) OF SECTION 12- 621 OF ARTICLE 2, CHAPTER 6, TITLE XII, AND SECTION 12- 5 OF ARTICLE 6, CHAPTER 6, TITLE XII, OP THE THE ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO MILK PRODUCTION, DISTRI- BUTION AND SALE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALA- MEDA as follows: SECTION 1. Subsection (1) of Section 12 -621 of Article 2, Chapter 6, Title XII, of the Alameda Munici- pal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: (1) Milk is the fresh, clean, lacteal secretion, all parts of which, within forty - eight .hours, if rate or if pasteurized, last prior to its delivery to the con- sumer or purchaser shall have been obtained from the udder by the complete milking of one or more healthy cows, properly fed and kept, excluding that obtained within fifteen days before and five days after calv- ing, and contains not less than three and five - tenths per cent of milk fat, and not less than eight and five - tenths per cent of solids —not fat. SECTION 2. Section 12 -665 of Article 6, Chapter 6, Title XII, of the Alameda Municipal Code Is hereby amended: to read as follows: Section 12 -665. Milk to Come From Healthy Cowx — Bacteri- al Count — Product of Stun[durd Dairy. All milk intended for Pasteurization shall come from cows free from all disease as determined at least once In six months, by the Veterinarian of the City of Alameda. It shall contain less than one hundred fifty thousand bacteria per cubic centimeter before pas- teurization and less than fif- teen thousand bacteria per cubic centimeter at the time of delivery to the ultimate con- sumer. Dairies from which this milk is derived must score at least seventy (70) on the score card adopted by the United States Bureau of Animal Indus- try, Department of Agriculture, and shall be the product of a dairy or dairies conducted in strict conformity with the ordi- nances of said City and with the regulations of the Health Officer, and shall be in every respect of such standard as is now, or may be hereafter from time to time, established by ordinance. SECTION S. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the expiration of thirty (30) days from the date of its final passage. W. J. BRANSC14EID Presiding Officer of the Council.
