Ordinance 0998ORDINANCE NO 998 NEW SERIES AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING TO. TITLE IV, CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 2 THEREOF, NEW SECTIONS TO BE, KNOWN AS SECTIONS 4- 2:1.1, 4 -221.2 AND 4- ::21:3, RELAT I NG TO UN - LEASHED DOGS ON GOLF COURSE. BE IT ORDAINED BY TI COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA: Section 1. That Title IV, Chapter 2, Article 2, of the Alameda lvlu- nicipal Code is hereby amended by ad0ing thereto new _secti:,Is to be known as Sections 4. 221.1, 4- 321.2 and 4- 221.3, which shall read as follows: See. 4- 221.1. Dogs To Be Keot - Under Leash, It 'shall be 'unlawful for any person owning, having an interest in, harboring, or having charge, care, control; cuvtody or possession of any dog, male or female, to cause or hermit such dog,' tQ be in or upon the Municipal Golf Course of the City of Alameda unles -s such dog be held or led by a cord, chain or other object or thing, or be confined . in a vehicle. Sec 4-221.2. Seizure and Disposi- male or female, found or being in or upon the Municipal Golf Course of the City of Alameda, and not being herd or led by .a card, chain or other object. or thing; nor con- fined in any vcb eIe, shall be taken into custody by the Poundrnaster or any Police Officer and :shall be transported to. and impounded in th <; Public Pound,: where, in addi- tion to any other penalties provided by this Code, it may be redeemed by the owner or persons entitled to possession thereof, :within five (5) days thereafter, on payment to the Poundmaster of the sum ' of Five ($5.00) Dollars, but if not so re- deemed, such dog shall be destroyed and disposed of by the Poundmaster; provided, that the : Poundmaster is hereby authorized not to destroy ` Ordinance No. 998 ll s Ne Series dogs which, in his opinion, are valu- able, and sell them; and his receipt for the sale thereof, endorsed by the City Clerk, shall be a.valid title to the purchaser. If a licen,5e 'tax has not been paid for the then cur - rent Year for any impounded . dog', the person redeeming said dog must, before redemption, pay such license tax in addition to the said sum of Five ($5:00) Dollars and any other penalties provided by this Code: See. 4- 221:3. Right of. lly Person to Seize Unleashed Dog. In addition to the Poundmaster or any Police Officer; any _person may - take into his custody any dog', male or female, found or being in or upon the Muni- cipal Golf Course of the City of Alameda and not being held or led by a cord, chain or other object or thin;, or confined. in any vehicle; and it shall be the duty of srluh person to immediately deliver si.ich dog to the Poundmaster or any Police Officer who shall give to Such person a. receipt for such Section 2: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the expiration of thirty (30) days from the date of its final pass -age: W.
