Ordinance 1048Ordinance No. 1048 Alameda City Ordinances New Series NEW SERIES AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ALA1 MIUNTCIPAL CODE BY ADDING TO ARTICLE 3, CHAPTER 2, TITLE IV, A NEW SECTION NUMBERED 4-236 REGULATING THE HEIGHT OF HEDGES, SHRUBS AND TREES AT THE CORNERS OF INTERSECTING STREETS. BE 1 ORI- 13Y THE COUN- CIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA as follows: Section 1, The Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding to Article 3, Chapter 2, Title IV, a new section numbered 4-236, which shall read as follows: See, 4-236. Height of I-ledges, Shrubs and Trees at the Corners of Inlersecl- ing Streets, It shall be unlawful for the owners or occupants of any corner lot or premises in the City of Alameda to keep, permit or maintain hedges, shrubs, trees or any growth between the curb line and the property line or within. the private lot or premises for a distance of fifteen (15) feet measured horizontally from the point of intersection of the property lines at street corners unless said hedges, shrubs, trees or other growth are so trimmed that the height of same shall not exceed four (4) feet above the level of the street at the curb, except as follows: (a) That trees, the main stalks or trunks of which are exposed to a height of eight (3) feet above the street level need not be so trimmed or cut unless said trees are determined to constitute and be a traffic hazard by the Traffic Division of the Police Departmerit of the City of Alameda, which said determination of the Traf- fic Division may be reviewed by the City Planning Board of the City of Alameda upon written application for such review. Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the expiration of thirty (30) days from the date of its final passage. FRANK P. OSBORN, Presiding Officer of the Council.
