Ordinance 1145ORDINANCE NO. 1145 NEW SERIES AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO BID, ON B EHALF OF THE CITY OF ALAME DDA, ON PUBLIC HOUS- ING ADMINISTRATION PROP- ERTY CAL : 4120' (FORMER ATLAN- TIC TRAILER PROJECT SITE). WHEREAS, the Disposition Officer of Public' housing Administration has announced <his intention to offer for sale to the highest responsible bidder that certain; government owned prop- erty situate in the City of Alameda, known as P.H.A. Cal. 4120 '(former Atlantic Trailer Project), together with the improvements thereon; and W HEREA S, the Council of the City of Alameda has found and determined that the acquisition' of said property for public purposes will be advantage- ous to said City; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT OR- DAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA, as follows: Section 1. That the City; Manager of the City of Alameda be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to pre- pare and deposit the City's bid, in the required form, r on said property, said bid to be in an amount hereafter to be determined by the City Council. In the event of the rejection of all bids on said property and the opening of negotiations for the sale thereof in the open market, the City' Manager is further authorized and directed to enter into such negotiations with the government and to make the City's offer for the said property in an ® New Series inances O,dinancc No. 1145 amount not exceeding the maximum figure hereafter r determined upon by the City' Council. Section 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to be a measure of great emergency and shall; go into effect im- mediately. Following is a statement of the emergency: The "property herein- before mentioned is to be offered for sale at some time during the month of February. If the ordinance were per - mitted'to take the usual course as a non- emergency measure, six weeks would elapse before it would go into effect, by which time it is possible that the time for bidding would be past: S.
