AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING
THE EXECUTION OF A'LEASE OF
CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY TO
THE UNITED STATES OF AMER-
ICA AND APPROVING THE FORM
AND TERMS OF SAID LEASE.
(ALAMEDA NAVAL AIR STATION)
WHEREAS, the United States of
America; hereinafter referred to as
the Government, has applied to the
City of Alameda for a lease of cer-
tain real property situate in the City
of Alameda and more particularly de-
scribed in the form of lease- herein-
after referred to, for the purpose of
using same for mili tary purposes, for
a term beginning July 1 1955 , and
ending June 30, 1956, with the proviso
that the Government shall have the
right of renewal from year to year
up to and including June 30,- 1980,
and with the further proviso that the
Government shall have an option to
renew said lease for an additional
term of twenty -five (25) years, at an
annual rental of $1,00, the first year's
rent payable upon the execution of the
lease and subsequent payments to be
made at the time of each extension
under the lease; and
WHEREAS, the use of said premises
is required by the ' Government for
the purpose of providing facilities for
the national defense, and
WHEREAS, a form of lease contain-
ing the covenants and agreements
stipulated and agreed upon between
the City of Alameda and the Govern-
ment has been prepared and submitted
to this Council at its regular meeting
held December 20; 1955, marked,
Filed Dec. 20 1955," and ordered
filed with the City Clerk of said
City:
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT OR-
CIITY OFgALAMEDA s follows:
Section 1. That the farm of lease

referred to in the preamble hereof
and the terms, covenants; agreements
and provisions thereof be, and the
same are hereby approved..
Section 2. That the lands described
in said form of lease be, and the same
are hereby leased to the United
States of America upon the terms,
covenants, agreements and. provisions
contained in the form of lease sub-
mitted to this Council and filed and
approved as aforesaid.
Section 3. The Mayor of the City
of Alameda is hereby authorized and
directed to execute, and the City
Clerk to attest, as the act and deed
of the City of Alameda, a lease sub-
stantially in the form and containing
the terms, covenants, agreements and
provisions set forth in the aforesaid
form of lease.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be
in full force and effect from and after
the expiration of thirty (30) days from
the date of its final passage.
