Ordinance 1373ORDINANCE NO, 1373 New Series AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO C-2 CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT REGULA- TIONS (ZONING ORDINANCE). BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUN- CIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA: Section 1. That Sections 11-1334, 11-1335 and 11-1336 of the Alameda Municipal Code are hereby amended to read as follows: See. 11-1334 Uses Permitted. (a) Uses permitted in C-1 Dis- tricts. (b) The following and similar retail, business, or service uses: (1) Appliance stores. (2) Art supply shops. (3) Auditoriums. (4) Bakery shops. (5) Beauty colleges. (6) Blueprinting shops. (7) Bowling establishments. (8) Business colleges, (9) Business offices. (10) Catering shops. (11) Dairy products stores and related processing facilities. (12) Department stores. (13) Furniture stores, including new and used. (14) Hotels, motels. (15) Ice dispensing stations (automatic). (16) Job printing shops. (17) Lodge halls and social clubs. (18) Mortuaries, and cremator- ies if on the same premises. (19) Music stores. (20) Newspaper publishing and printing establishments. (21) Paint stores. (22) Pawn shops. (23) Pet shops. (24) Photographic stores. (25) Plumbing supplies and fix- tures, retail sales only. (26) Restaurants. (27) Shoe stores. (28) Taverns with or without re- lated food or entertainment facilities. (29) Taxi stands. (30) Theatres, including movie and legitimate, but exclud- ing "drive-in" type. (31) Travel agencies, (32) Used household articles and clothing sales. (c) Incidental storage and ac- cessory uses, including repair op erations and services, provided such uses shall be incidental to the retail sale of products on the premises, shall not employ more than five (5) persons excluding sales personnel, and shall be so placed and constructed as not to be offensive or objectionable be- cause of odor, dust, smoke, noise or vibration. (it) Signs: As provided by Arti- cle 4-13 of this Chapter. See. 11-1335. Uses Requiring Use Permit. (a) Automobile sales and serv- ices, used car lots; provided, how- ever, that the restrictions of Sec- tion 11-1334(c) relating to num- ber of employees allowed, shall not apply to these uses. (b) "Drive-in" restaurants and other "drive-in" establishments, but excluding "drive-in" movie theatres. (c) Dwellings in conjunction with permitted non-residential, uses as regulated by Sectio#\ql- 1331(a) of this Chapter. See, 11-1336, Minimum Height, Bulk and Space Requirements. (a) Lot Area and Width: Nime: (b) Building Height Limit: Eight (8) stories, but not to exceed one hundred (100) feet. (c) Building coverage: Buildings may cover 100% of the building site; provided, however, the ratio of all floor space to lot size shall not exceed 5 to 1. (d) Front Yard: None. (e) Side Yard: No yard or a minimum of twelve (12) feet; pro- vided, however, where any lot abuts a residential district there shall be a minimum side yard of five (5) feet plus an additional two (2) feet for each story over three (3) M Rear Yard: None; provided, however, where the rear portion of the lot is accessible from a street, alley or parking lot, or combination thereof, the rear yard shall be a minimum of twelve (12) feet; provided, forth- er,that any structure may project over such required rear yard if a 14-foot clear vertical distance be- tween said structure and ground level is maintained. (9) Off-Street Parking and Loading Space: As provided by Article 4-C of this Chapter. Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the expiration of thirty (30) days from the date of its final passage. FRANZ S.
