AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
T H E ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL
CODE BY AMENDING SEC-
TIONS 2 -541 AND 2 -545 THEREOF,
RELATING TO VACATION
LEAVE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ALAMEDA:
Section 1. That Subsection (b)
of Section 2 -541 of the Alameda
Municipal Code is hereby amend-
ed to read as follows:
(b) After five (5) years of
service with the City, com-
puted as in this section pro-
vided, said officials and em-
ployees shall be allowed an-
nually a vacation with pay
of fifteen (15) regularly sched-
uled working days, computed
on the basis of a five -day
work week. In case of em-
ployees working more than a
five -day work week, the vaca-
tion time shall be twenty -one
(21) calendar days.
Section 2. That Section 2 -545 of
the Alameda Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as fol-
lows:
Sec_. 2 -545. , Deferred Vaca-
tion. Each employee entitled
to ten or more working days
vacation in any calendar year
may, subject to the provisions
of the immediately preceding
section, defer a maximum of
ten working days of such va-
cation to the next succeeding
calendar year. Such deferral
shall be requested in writing
by the employee and acted
upon by the appointing au-
thority, following transmission
of such request, together with
the recommendation of the de-
partment head, upon forms
prescribed by the Personnel
Director, and forwarded to
the Personnel Department to
become a matter of record.
Section 3. This ordinance shall
be in full force and effect on
January 1, 1969.
