AMENDING THE ALAMEDA MUNICI-
PAL CODE BY AMENDING SECTION
13-133 THEREOF, RELATING TO BUSI-
NESS LICENSE REVENUE TAX

THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OP ALAMEDA:
Section 1, Section 13-13:_3 of
the Alameda Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as fol-
lows:
Sec. 1:3-133. License Fee a
Tax; Does not Permit Busi-
liess Otherwise Prohibited.
The term "license" as used
in this Chapter shall not be
construed to mean a .permit.
The fees prescribed by this
Chapter constitute a tax for
municipal revenue purposes
only, and are not regulatory
permit fees.
The payment of a lice.nsc
fee requireCi by the provi-
sions of this Chapter, and its
acceptance by the City, and
the issuance of a lice :Ilse to
any person Shall not. entitle
the person so paying such
tax, nor the bolder of such
li.cense, to carry on any busi-
ness unless he has complied
%vial all of the requirements
of this Code and all other ap-
plicable laws, nor to carry
on any business in or on any'
building, or premises des-
ignated in such license in
tne event such building or
premise are sltuated in a
locality or zone in which the
conduct of such business is
:in violation of any law, nor
to carry on any business or
activity for which a permit.

ness or activity, not to carry
on any business or activity

Section 2. This ordinance
shall be in full force and effect
from and after the expiration
of thirty (30) days from the
date of its final passage.
