Section 5.1, The Civil Service
Board shall hove the power to reclas-
sify the incumbent of an existing
Position to a new or existing class-
ificabon without examination when
a general or special survey of the du-
ties of such position reveals that the
incumbent has, Prior to July 1, 1973,
been permanently assigned and sat-
isfactorily, Performing duties adcli
tional to or different from those
required by his or her present class-
ification. The additional or different
duties performed must be found to be
substantially the same as those set
out in the classification to which the
employee is reclassified. Any such
reclassification shall be based upon a
finding by the Civil Service Board
that such additional or different du-
ties were assigned by the employee's
Department Head with the
knowledge and approval of the Ap-
Pointing Authority, such assignment
of duties having been necessitated
primarily by the changing functions
of a department, and not by the
qualifications of the incumbent.
Reclassification may be to a new or
existing classification which isatthe
same, a higher, or a lower salary
level than the current classifica-
tion,
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in
full force and effectfrorn and otter the
expiration of thirty (30) days frorn the
dote of itsfinalpossage,
