Ordinance 1908CITY OF ALAMEDA ORDINANCE NO. 1908 New Series AMENDING THE ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL CODE BY AMENDING SECTION 2 -545 THEREOF RELATING TO VACATION DEFERRAL POLICY FOR CERTAIN EMPLOYEES BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that: Section 1. Section 2 -545 of the Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended to read: sec, 2 -545 Deferred Vacation (a) Each employee entitled to ten or more working days vacation in any calendar year may, subject to the provisions of the immediately preceding section, defer a maximum of ten working days of such vacation to the next succeeding calendar year. Such deferral shall be raqucs ted in writing by tha employee, reviewed by the Department Head, who shall note if the employee qualifies, and transmitted to the Personnel Department, upon forms prescribed by the Personnel Director, where it shall become a matter of record. (b) Where permitted by the terms of a Memorandum of Understanding between the City and any recognized employee organization, any permanent employee of the City or Bureau of Electricity, incumbent in any classification of employ- ment so permitted by said Memorandum, will be allowed to carry war all of his or her accumulated vacation time, whether or not such time is in excess of the normally -1- allowed ten days of carryover, if the employee is pre- cluded from using any accumulated vacation time in O W� O N 4 V� excess of ten days before the end of the calendar year, either by order of City or Bureau Management or as a result of being on sick leave or accident leave, explicitly documented by a doctor's certificate, during the course of the end of the calendar year such that it becomes impossible to use any of such accumulated vacation time in excess of ten days. Section 2 This ordinance shall be in full force and street from and after the expiration of thirty (30) days from the date of its final passage.
