AMENDING THE ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL CODE BY REPEALING
SUBSECTION (26) OF SECTION 17 -461 THEREOF RELATING
TO TRAFFIC REGULATION AT DOOLITTLE DRIVE AND
ISLAND DRIVE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that:
Section 1 . Section 17 -461 (Yield Right -of -Way Inter-
sections) of the Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended by
repealing subsection (26) thereof.
Section 2 . This ordinance is one of great necessity and
urgency within the meaning of Section 3 -12 of the City Charter,
is introduced and passed at the same Council meeting and shall
become effective on August 16, 1978.
Section 3 . The facts constituting the necessity and
urgency hereof are:
1. That traffic regulations are essential for the
orderly flow and control of traffic within the City.
2. That such regulations should necessarily be immediately
effection on passage to insure that maximum preservation of
public welfare is obtained.
3. That a potential health and safety problem will exist
if such amendments are not immediately effective.
4. That, in light of such potential health and safety
problems involved, the normal delay between enactment of this
ordinance and its effective date would be injurious.

5. This Council hereby finds, determines and declares
that it is in the best interest and necessity that this
ordinance be introduced and passed at the regular meeting of
the City Council held August 15, 1978, and that this ordinance
become and be in full force and effect August 16, 1978.

duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled on the 15th day of August, by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Beckam, Diament, Sherratt, Tillman,
and President Corica, (5).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
