AMENDING CERTAIN PORTIONS OF THE ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL
CODE RELATING TO TRAFFIC REGULATIONS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that:
Section 1 . Section 17 -432 (Stop Intersections) of the
Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding subsections
(219), (220), (221) and (222) thereto, to read as follows:
(219) Alameda Avenue with Paru Street, signs shall
be erected on Alameda Avenue at or near the northeasterly
and southwesterly corners of its intersection with Paru
Street.
(220) Eagle Avenue with Chestnut Street, signs shall
be erected on Eagle Avenue at or near the northeasterly
and southwesterly corners of its intersection with
Chestnut Street.
(221) Pacific Avenue with Schiller Street, signs
shall be erected on Pacific Avenue at or near the north-
easterly and southwesterly corners of its intersection
with Schiller Street.
(222) Paru Street with Clinton Avenue, signs shall
be erected on Paru Street at or near the northwesterly
and southeasterly corners of its intersection with
Clinton Avenue.
Section 2 . Section 17 -461 (Yield Right -of -Way Signs) of
the Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended by repealing sub-
sections (6), (24), (28) and (29) thereof.
Section 3 . This ordinance is one of great necessity and
urgency within the meaning of Section 3 -12 of the City Charter,
is introduced and passed at the same Council meeting and shall
become effective on October 4, 1978.
Section 4 . The facts constituting the necessity and
urgency hereof are:
1. That traffic regulations are essential for the orderly
flow and control of traffic within the City.
2. That such regulations should necessarily be immediately
effective on passage to insure that maximum preservation of public
welfare is obtained.
3. That a potential health and safety problem will exist
if such amendments are not immediately effective.
4. That, in light of such potential health and safety

problems involved, the normal delay between enactment of this
ordinance and its effective date would be injurious.
5. This Council hereby finds, determines and declares
that it is in the best interest and necessity that this ordinance
be introduced and passed at the regular meeting of the City
Council held October 3, 1978, and that this ordinance become and
be in full force and effect October 4, 1978.

in regular meeting assembled on the 3rd day of October, 1978, by the following

ABSENT: None.
