AMENDING THE ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL CODE BY AMENDING
SECTION 2 -332 OF ARTICLE 3, CHAPTER 3 OF TITLE II
THEREOF RELATING TO MEMBERSHIP OF THE ALAMEDA
HISTORICAL ADVISORY COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the membership of the Alameda Historical
Advisory Commission has consisted of those persons appointed
by the City Council to the Design Review Board; and
WHEREAS, the Design Review Board has now been abolished;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ALAMEDA that:
Section 1 . Section 2 -332 of Article 3, Chapter 3 of
Title II of the Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended to
read as follows:
Sec. 2 -332 Membership Term of Office Removal
The commission shall consist of five (5) members, all of
whom shall be residents of the City during incumbency,
nominated by the Mayor and appointed by the City Council:
(a) One (1) registered architect;
(b) One (1) registered landscape architect, architect,
or building designer;
(c) One (1) state licensed general building contractor;
(d) Two (2) members shall be citizens of the City at
large with an interest in community design.
(e) In the event that the Council determines that any

of the positions described in subsections (a), (b)
or (c) cannot be filled by persons qualified there-
under, the Council may fill any such position by
appointing persons qualified under subsections (a),
(b), (c) or (d).
The terms of such members shall be for four (4)
years and thereafter until the successor of such member
is appointed and qualified, aid all terms shall begin on
the first day of July. A vacancy in the office of any
such member shall be filled for the unexpired term by
appointment in the manner hereinabove set forth.
Any member may be removed from the Commission by
the affirmative vote of four (4) members of the City

V Section 2 . The present members of the Alameda Historical
o Advisory Commission shall continue their terms on the Commission.

o v effect from and after the expiration of thirty (30) days from

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of
Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 17th day of July, 1979, by
the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Diament, Sherratt, Stone, Tillman and
President Corica, (5).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
