AMENDING CHAPTER 5 OF TITLE XVII OF THE ALAMEDA
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO TRANSPORTATION OF
HAZARDOUS MATERIALS THROUGH THE POSEY TUBE AND
WEBSTER STREET TUBE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that:
Section 1 . Section 17 -5322 of Chapter 5 of Title XVII of
the Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended to read:
Sec. 17 -5322 Posey Tube, Webster Street Tube, Trans -
Portation of Flammable Liquids Explosives and other
Hazardous Materials When appropriate signs are in place
giving notice thereof it shall be unlawful for any person
to transport or carry into or through the Posey Tube or
the Webster Street Tube, any flammable liquids, explosives,
or other hazardous materials as defined,by the Vehicle Code
of the State of California. The term "flammable liquid,
explosives, or other hazardous materials" as used herein
shall be construed to mean and shall include definitions
relating to any radio - active material, poison, flammable
gas, non flammable gas, flammable liquid, oxidyzer, flam-
mable solid, corrosive material (liquid or solid), irritating
materials, combustible liquids, explosives, blasting agents,
etiologic agents, organic peroxides, hazardous wastes, and
other related materials of classes of A, B, C, D and E.
as designated by the United States Department of Transporta-
tion, under Title 49 (commencing with Section 1801) of the
United States Code and Title 49 (commencing with Section
107) of the Code of Federal Regulations relating to hazardous
\ materials, substances, or waste.
\S Section 2 . Section 17 -5323 of Chapter 5 of Title XVII of

+ Section 3 . This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
o� from and after the expiration of thirty days from the date of its
