AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE GRANT CONTRACT
BETWEEN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF BOATING AND
WATERWAYS AND THE ALAMEDA POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR THE PURCHASE
OF MARINE PATROL EQUIPMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda has been awarded grant approval from the
State of California Department of Boating and Waterways in the sum of $13,000.00 for
Ethe purpose of purchasing the necessary equipment and services to preserve and
repair the marine patrol boat; and
WHEREAS, a contract has been prepared by the Department of Boating and
Waterways which requires the signature by a City representative and a resolution by
the City Council authorizing the signature; and
WHEREAS, the State of California Department of Boating and Waterways is
funding the cost of this work to enhance the preservation, and delivery of marine patrol
and enforcement service to the maritime community in and around Alameda
waterways with no requirement for local government matching funds; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Alameda that the Council authorizes the City Manager to execute the grant contract
between the State of California Department of Boating and Waterways and the
Alameda Police Department.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and
regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 17th day of January, 2012 by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Bonta, deHaan, Johnson and Tam — 4.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Mayor Gilmore — 1.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
