APPROVING THE MAYOR'S SELECTION OF MEMBERS
TO THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE
HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Alameda has determined that
the City Council shall no longer serve as the Board of Commissioners of the
Housing Authority of the City of Alameda.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that pursuant to
the provisions of California Health and Safety Code 34270, and upon nomination
of the Mayor, ARTHUR KURRASCH is hereby appointed to the office of Chair of
the Board of Commissioners of the Housing Authority (AHA) to serve in that
capacity for the first year of the initial term of four years, expiring on March 19,
2016, and to serve until his successor is appointed and qualified.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that
pursuant to the provisions of California Health and Safety Code 34270, and upon
nomination of the Mayor, JOY PRATT is hereby appointed to the office of the
member of the Board of Commissioners of the AHA for the initial term of one
year, and expiring on March 19, 2013, and to serve until her successor is
appointed and qualified.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that
pursuant to the provisions of California Health and Safety Code 34270, and upon
nomination of the Mayor, STUART RICKARD is hereby appointed to the office of
the member of the Board of Commissioners of the AHA for the initial term of two
years, and expiring on March 19, 2014, and to serve until his successor is
appointed and qualified.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that
pursuant to the provisions of California Health and Safety Code 34270, and upon
nomination of the Mayor, CLIFTON SMITH is hereby appointed to the office of
the member of the Board of Commissioners of the AHA for the initial term of
three years, and expiring on March 19, 2015, and to serve until his successor is
appointed and qualified.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that
pursuant to the provisions of California Health and Safety Code 34270, and upon
nomination of the Mayor, NAN JOESTEN is hereby appointed to the office of the
member of the Board of Commissioners of the AHA for the initial term of four
years, and expiring on March 19, 2016, and to serve until her successor is
appointed and qualified.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that
pursuant to the provisions of California Health and Safety Code 34270, and upon
nomination of the Mayor, FAYLEEN ALLEN and CULLEN JONES are hereby
appointed to the offices of tenant members of the Board of Commissioners of the
AHA each for a term of two years, expiring on March 19, 2014, and each to serve
until their successors are appointed and qualified.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the forgoing Resolution was duly
and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in
regular meeting assembled on the 20th day of March, 2012, by the following vote
to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Bonta, deHaan, Tam and
Mayor Gilmore — 4.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilmember Johnson — 1
ABSTENTIONS: None.
