ACCEPT AGREEMENT WITH ALLSPORT AMERICA, INC., DBA
SPORT COURT TENNIS FOR REHABILITATION OF TENNIS
COURTS (VARIOUS LOCATIONS), FUNDED BY MEASURE
WW IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $350,000
WHEREAS, the East Bay Regional Park District's (EBRPD) Measure
WW was approved by the voters in November 2008 and provides each agency
in the EBRPD jurisdiction with a per capita allocation of funding. Based on the
allocation formula, the City of Alameda is eligible for a total of $3,465,489 in
Measure WW funds; and
WHEREAS, in 2010 the City Council approved renovation of various
tennis courts in an amount not to exceed $350,000, funded by Measure WW;
and
WHEREAS, rehabilitation improvements include resurfacing of the following
tennis courts:
• 3 courts at Krusi Park
• 3 courts at Leydecker Park
• 6.5 courts at Washington Park
• 2 courts at Franklin Park
• 1 court at Longfellow Park
• 1 court at Lincoln Park
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda authorized a call for bids on July 19,
2011 and Allsport America Inc., DBA Sport Court Tennis was selected as the
lowest bidder after a comprehensive process; and
WHEREAS, the City Council authorized an agreement with AI 'sport
America Inc., DBA Sport Court Tennis on September 6, 2011; and
WHEREAS, an addendum is now included with the Sport Court Tennis
agreement to include tennis court renovation at two additional tennis courts.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Alameda accepts the agreement with Allsport America Inc., DBA Sport Court
Tennis to rehabilitate tennis courts in various parks in an amount not to exceed
$350,000.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly
and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a
regular meeting assembled on the 17th day of July, 2012, by the following vote
to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Bonta, deHaan, Johnson, Tam and
Mayor Gilmore — 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
