Mayor Gilmore convened the meeting at 7:22 p.m.
ROLL CALL - Present: Councilmembers deHaan, Johnson, Tam and Mayor
Gilmore — 4.
Absent: None.
RESOLUTIONS ACKNOWLEDGING SERVICE AND FAREWELL COMMENTS
(12 -590) Resolution No. 14758, "Commending Doug deHaan for Eight Years of Service
to the City of Alameda as CounciImember." Adopted.
Mayor Gilmore read the resolution and presented it to Councilmember deHaan.
Councilmember Tam moved adoption of the resolution.
Councilmember Johnson seconded the motion, which carried by unanimous voice vote

Councilmember deHaan made brief comments and outlined accomplishments.
(12 -591) Resolution No. 14759, "Commending Beverly J. Johnson for Fourteen Years of
Service to the City of Alameda as Mayor and CounciImember." Adopted.
Mayor Gilmore read the resolution and presented it to Councilmember Johnson.
Councilmember Tam moved adoption of the resolution.
Councilmember deHaan seconded the motion, which carried by unanimous voice vote —

Councilmember Johnson recognized her family and made brief comments.
Recognized Councilmembers deHaan and Johnson for their service: Mary Anderson,
Alameda; Jim Oddie representing Assembly Member Bonta; Jay Ingram, Alameda; Jill
deHaan- Ingram and Juliette Ingram, Alameda; Robert Sullwold, Alameda; Jane
Sullwold, Alameda; Joe Van Winkle, Alameda; and Robb Ratto, Park Street Business
Association.
Mayor Gilmore presented a token of appreciation to Councilmembers deHaan and
Johnson.
Councilmember deHaan recognized his family.

REORGANIZATION OF COUNCIL
The Honorable Judge Delbert Gee administered the Oaths of Office to Councilmembers
Ezzy Ashcraft, Daysog and Chen; Auditor Kearney; and Treasurer Kennedy.

CONSIDERATION OF APPOINTMENT OF VICE MAYOR
(12 -592) Councilmember Tam moved approval of appointing Councilmember Ezzy
Ashcraft as Vice Mayor.
Councilmember Daysog seconded the motion, which carried by unanimous voice vote —

COMMENTS BY NEW COUNCIL
(12 -593) Vice Mayor Ezzy Ashcraft, Councilmember Chen and Councilmember Daysog
recognized their families and supporters and made brief comments.
The City Treasurer and City Auditor made brief comments.
Congratulated Councilmembers Chen, Daysog and Ezzy Ashcraft: Jim Oddie
representing Assembly Member Bonta; and Jon Spangler, Alameda.

(12 -594) The City Manager made brief comments and introduced the new Assistant City
Manager Elizabeth Warmerdam.

(12 -595) Jon Spangler, Alameda, encouraged settling the lawsuit with East Bay
Regional Park District.

(12 -596) Councilmember Chen recognized elected officials from San Leandro.
(12 -597) Mayor Gilmore announced that she would present a token to the newly elected
officials; and noted applause should be withheld at future Council meetings.

There being no further business, Mayor Gilmore adjourned the meeting at 9:17 p.m.
