Resolution 14762CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 14762 AMENDING THE ALAMEDA CITY EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION (ACEA) SALARY SCHEDULE ESTABLISHING THE CLASSIFICATION OF EARLY MORNING STREET SWEEPER OPERATOR • -_ WHEREAS, the City of Alameda provides street sweeping services to its main businesses five days a week during the early morning hours to avoid competing with -` ±{.' business customers and commuters; and WHEREAS, historically, Public Works employees who sweep streets at 4:00 a.m. or earlier are classified as a Maintenance Worker II and have been provided a five I ti:y� • , percent annual pay incentive; and WHEREAS, this pay incentive was once documented in approved salary resolutions but eventually became incorporated into the annual approval of yRates by the City Manager; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has concluded that a more appropriate procedure for compensating street sweeper operators assigned to the early morning route is to create a new Early Morning Street Sweeper Operator classification that replaces one existing Maintenance Worker II position; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that the salary resolution of the Alameda City Employees Association (ACEA) is hereby amended by establishing the salary rates, salary range, salary steps and benefits for the classification of Early Morning Street Sweeper Operator designating those as applicable to this classification in the service of the City of Alameda. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the new Early Morning Street Sweeper Operator will be paid according to the following pay schedule: CITY OF ALAMEDA ALAMEDA CITY EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION Effective January 27, 2013 Code Classification Nonexempt HOURLY Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 Step 6 Step 7 Step 8 2530 Early Morning Street Sweeper Operator $23.29 $24.45 $25.67 $26.95 $28.30 $29.72 $31.21 $32.77 This classifications is eligible for safety boots or shoes reimbursement as provided in Section 15.2 Safety Boots or Shoes * Indicates classifications with thirty -seven and one -half (37'/) hour original workweek; other classifications have forty (40) hour original workweek.
