Resolution 14148CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO 14148 APPROVING THE DEVELOPMENT PLAN AND THE TIME SCHEDULE FOR THE SEWER SYSTEM MANAGEMENT PLAN AS ADOPTED BY THE STATE WATER RESOURCES CONTROL BOARD WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 13267 of the California Water Code, municipalities that own and operate sanitary sewer collection system are required to prepare a Sewer System Management Plan (SSMP); and WHEREAS, on May 2, 2006, the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB), adopted new statewide Sanitary Sewer Overflow Waste Discharge Requirements (SSO WDR); and WHEREAS, pursuant to the statewide SSO WDR, agencies that own and operate sanitary sewer system must develop a SSMP and complete the SSMP elements in accordance with the SWRCB milestone schedule; and WHEREAS, the City of Alameda has developed an interim SSMP, based on the Regional Water Quality Control (RWQCB) guidelines; and WHEREAS, the City of Alameda Public Works Department's staff is responsible for completing and reporting of the SSMP elements to the SWRCB and RWQCB; and WHEREAS, the SSMP is also a part of the City of Alameda Sewer Master Plan, funded by the City Sewer Funds. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Alameda hereby approves the development plan and the milestone schedule for the SSMP as adopted by the SWRCB for communities that have a population between 10,000 and 100,000. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda during the Regular Meeting of the City Council on the 16th day of October 2007, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers deHaan, Gilmore, Matarrese, Tam and Mayor Johnson - 5.
