Resolution 14187CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 14187 APPROVING AMENDMENT TO MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF ELECTRICAL WORKERS AND THE CITY OF ALAMEDA FOR THE PERIOD ENDING DECEMBER 31, 2008, TO ESTABLISH RUBBER GLOVE EDUCATIONAL INCENTIVE PAY WHEREAS, there has been submitted to this Council an Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Alameda and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union No. 1245 to establish Rubber Glove Educational Incentive Pay; and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda has fully examined the proposed Amendment, a copy of which is attached, and thereby finds and determines adoption of said document to be in the best interest of the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that said Council hereby approves and adopts said Amendment. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the provision of this Resolution shall supersede any other resolution in conflict herewith. ATTACHMENT 1 AMENDMENT TO MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING Between CITY OF ALAMEDA And INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF ELECTRICAL WORKERS The City of Alameda and the International Brotherhood of Electrical workers (IBEW) having met and conferred in good faith pursuant to the Meyers- Milias Brown Act ( "MMBA ", Government Code §§ 3500 et seq.) and the IBEW 'Memorandum of Understanding ( "MOU ") for the period from January 1, 2005 through December 31, 2008, agree to the following amendment to that Memorandum of Understanding to establish Section 12.6.2 Rubber Glove Educational Incentive as follows: "12.6.2 Rubber Glove Educational Incentive An employee assigned to the classifications of Journey Lineworker, Service Lineworker, or Line Working Supervisor, who satisfactorily completes and maintains training and certification in the use of rubber gloves when working with high voltage electrical lines (rubber gloving), and who possesses at least two years experience performing rubber gloving, shall be paid an additional 6% of base salary as Rubber Glove Educational Incentive. This incentive pay becomes effective on the first day of the pay period following certification and completion of required service time." This section shall be effective the beginning of the pay period following City Council approval.
