AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY TO THE
CALIFORNIA INTEGRATED WASTE MANAGEMENT BOARD FOR
ANY TARGETED RUBBERIZED ASPHALT CONCRETE INCENTIVE
GRANT OFFERED IN THE NEXT FIVE YEARS, AND TO ENTER INTO
ALL ASSOCIATED AGREEMENTS
WHEREAS, Public Resources Code Section (PRC) 42872.5, authorizes
the California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB) to establish a
grant program to fund rubberized asphalt concrete (RAC) projects; and
WHEREAS, the CIWMB has been delegated the responsibility for the
administration of the program, setting up necessary procedures governing
application by local governments and their subdivisions under the program; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the CIWMB require the
applicant to certify, by resolution, approval of the application before submission
of said application to the State; and
w WHEREAS, if awarded a grant, the applicant will enter into an
agreement with the State of California for development of the project.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of
Alameda does hereby approve the submittal of any application to the CIWMB
for a Targeted Rubberized Asphalt Concrete Incentive Grant in the next five
years and authorizes the City Manger to enter into all necessary applications,
contracts, agreements, amendments, and payment requests hereto for the
purposes of securing grant funds and to implement and carry out the purposes
specified in the grant applications.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and
regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda during the
Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council on the 6th day of November, 2008, by
the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers deHaan, Gilmore, Matarrese, Tam
and Mayor Johnson - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
