AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR BICYCLE TRANSPORTATION ACCOUNT (BTA)
FUNDS FOR BICYCLE PROJECTS
WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation ( Caltrans) has allocated
BTA funds for bicycle projects for the fiscal year 2004 /05; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda wishes to apply to Caltrans for the funding of a
project: $171,000 for a West End Estuary Crossing Feasibility Study; and
WHEREAS, BTA funding guidelines require that local agencies fundat least 10% of
the total project cost; and
WHEREAS, the City has $19,000 in funds available in Measure B sales tax revenues
to provide the local matching funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Alameda authorizes the filing of an application with Caltrans for allocation of BTA funds for the
project described above, authorize` the necessary 10% local match and authorize the Public Works
Director to execute any necessary documents.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting assembled on the 16th
day of December, 2003, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, Gilmore, Kerr, Matarrese, and
Mayor Johnson 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
