Resolution 11901CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 11901 AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO NEGOTIATE IN THE OPEN MARKET, PURSUANT TO SECTION 3-15 OF THE CITY CHARTER, FOR THE IMMEDIATE REPAIR OF CERTAIN EARTHQUAKE DAMAGE WHEREAS, the City sustained damage to several areas as a result of the October 17, 1989 earthquake; and WHEREAS, certain damage areas still exist that are potential hazards which require immediate repair; and WHEREAS, a list entitled "Tabulation of Earthquake Damage" and attached hereto as Exhibit A has been prepared by City staff and by representatives of the Federal Emergency Management Agency; and WHEREAS, damage items have been listed in order of urgency and priority, and Damage Items 1 through 9 are judged to be potential hazards; and WHEREAS, Section 3-15 of the City Charter provides that if great necessity or emergency requires immediate action, the City Council may determine by its action to effect emergency purchases in excess of $5,000 in the open market; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Alameda authorizes the Public Works Director to negotiate in the open market for repair of earthquake damage, Items 1 through 9 as detailed on the attached list. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 5 th day of - December, 19 84 by the following vote to wit: AYES: Counci1members Arnerich, Camicia, Thomas, Withrow and President Corica - 5.
