Resolution 11923CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 11923 PROVIDING INFORMAL BIDDING PROCEDURES UNDER THE UNIFORM PUBLIC CONSTRUCTION COST ACCOUNTING ACT (SECTION 22000, ET SEQ. OF THE PUBLIC CONTRACT CODE) AND FOR THE PURCHASE OF GOODS AND SUPPLIES WHEREAS, prior to the passage of Assembly Bill No. 1666, Chap. 1054 Stats. 1983, which added Chapter 2 commencing with Section 22000 to Part 3 of Division 2 of the Public Contract Code, existing law did not provide a uniform cost accounting standard for construction work performed or contracted by local public agencies; and WHEREAS, Public Contract Code Section 22000 et seq., the Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act, establishes such a uniform cost accounting standard; and WHEREAS, the Commission established under the Act has developed uniform public construction cost accounting procedures for implementation by local public agencies in the performance of or in the contracting for construction of public projects; and WHEREAS, the alternative bidding procedures provided for under the Act allow local public agencies to perform work by force account costing up to Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ($25,000) and to let to contract by informal procedures public projects of Seventy-five Thousand Dollars ($75,000) or less; and WHEREAS, the City of Alameda desires to apply such procedures to the purchase of goods and supplies costing up to Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ($25,000). WHEREAS, City Charter §3-15 allows the City to follow the bid and contract procedures for general law cities. 4 WHEREAS, the City of Alameda desires to adopt such limits and procedures. -r NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of :0 Alameda that the City of Alameda hereby elects under Publicl Contract Code Section 22030 to become subject to the uniform public construction cost accounting procedures set forth in the Act and2::°--6 to the Commission's policies and procedures manual and cost accounting review procedures, as they may each from time to time be amended, and directs that the City Clerk notify the State Controller forthwith of this election. 1 0 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that such accounting procedures, policies and limitations shall be used for the purchase of goods and supplies when such goods and supplies cost up to Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ($25,000). I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 16th day of January , 19 90, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Arneriohf Camiciaf Thomas, Withrow and President Corica 5, NOES: None, ABSENT: None.
