DESIGNATING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR, THE
CITY MANAGER AND THE FIRE CHIEF TO ACT AS
AGENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA TO THE
STATE IN ALL MATTERS PERTAINING TO NATURAL
DISASTER ASSISTANCE
WHEREAS, on November 7, 1989, Council approved Resolution
No. 11864, designating the Public Works Director to act as agent
on behalf of the City for all matters pertaining to FEMA; and
WHEREAS, the State of California requires a similar
resolution; and
WHEREAS, in addition to the Public Works Director, the
City Manager has been listed as an alternate agent in order to
process necessary documentation should the Public Works Director
be unavailable; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Chief has been designated as the City's
local Hazard Mitigation Officer to the State of California;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Alameda that Robert L. Warnick, Public Works Director, or
William C. Norton, City Manager, or Robert LaGrone, Fire Chief,
is hereby authorized to execute for and in behalf of the City of
Alameda, a public entity established under the laws of the State
of California, this application and to file it in the Office of
Emergency Services for the purpose of obtaining certain federal
financial assistance under P.L. 93-288 as amended by the Robert T.
Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act of 1988, or
state financial assistance under the Natural Disaster Assistance '
Act.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Alameda, a public
entity established under the laws of the State of California,
hereby authorizes its agent to provide to the State Office of :—
Emergency Services for all matters pertaining to such state°
disaster assistance the assurances and agreements required.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 6th day of
February , 1990, by the following vote to wit:
