TO
VOLUNTEERS FOR THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
NO. 11947
WHEREAS, the Volunteers continue to bring enthusiasm and new prospective in
providing much needed services to the community by their generous contributions of time,
talent and countless hours, and
WHEREAS, the Volunteer Program allows volunteers a unique opportunity to experience
new challenges, meet new people, and gain valuable experience for personal growth and for
the betterment of the community, and
WHEREAS, the dedication and commitment of our volunteers and their enormous
contribution of valuable services enrich the quality of city services without additional cost to
the City, and
WHEREAS, the Information desk, Docent Program and City Hall tours continue to
flourish because of the outstanding services rendered to the public who seek information
concerning City Hall and City services, and
WHEREAS, the Volunteer Program's commitment to provide a meaningful referral and
placement service for concerned citizens continues to be a valuable service to agencies in
need of volunteer services, and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to proudly acknowledge that April 22nd through April 28th,
1990 has been declared National Volunteer Week, and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda also wishes to acknowledge the
outstanding and valuable efforts and total commitment of the many City of Alameda Volunteers
to the City and for sustaining the high standards of the Volunteer Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that it will
continue to support the City of Alameda Volunteer Program with pride and will look forward
to its continued growth and the opportunity to utilize the talents of the many generous people
who contribute so loyally. This City Council thanks and commends the devoted volunteers for
their outstanding efforts over the past years.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted
and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the
3rd of April, 1990 by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Thomas, Withrow and
President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
